We’ve put together the Ultimate Guide to Cannabis Dispensaries for your enjoyment, because well, Las Vegas! If you’re in town to see a few shows, visit your favorite strip clubs, eat at a different buffet every night, or enjoy free cocktails while you gamble (surprising how many people don’t know that still; and tip your servers, and dealers!), here’s your guide to enjoying cannabis while you do it all in my favorite city.
Here’s a few things to know before you jump in your Uber (or jump right down to the list of dispensaries):
Recreational vs Medical: Now that recreational cannabis is legal in Sin City, you no longer need to worry about bringing your medical card, although Nevada does honor out-of-state medical cards, and you may get a medical discount at some places.
Nevada Cannabis Law: Just so you’re fully informed (and we’re not lawyers and laws may change), keep in mind people 21 and older can possess up to one ounce of cannabis, and up to an eighth of an ounce of concentrated marijuana (in the form of hash or edibles). You can’t legally consume marijuana in public places, including casinos, or in moving vehicles. That doesn’t seem to be stopping people vaping it up almost anywhere – but make it obvious, and I’m sure there would be consequences.
CBD vs THC: There are many CBD-only “dispensaries” all over the place, but they are selling only CBD oil products that contain no cannabis THC, so keep that in mind when deciding where to go. CBD is great for pain and other uses, but the combination called The Entourage Effect with a ratio of CBD with THC works much better,as it helps with the absorption or uptake, such as 5 to 1, 20 to 1, etc. Ratio-based products containing some THC are not sold at these CBD-only places. We’re not listing any CBD-only dispensaries in this guide.
Delivery: Online ordering and delivery is widely available, but note that most are not 24/7, and you should have exact change in cash. You can’t order delivery up to your hotel room, because it’s illegal to deliver to hotel resort-casinos.
Payment:Most dispensaries are cash-only, a few will take bank cards, but most have ATMs, for a fee. You’re also not supposed to smoke it in your room or anywhere in public. Also, keep in mind that places near the Strip may be more expensive. Also, not many places include the 10% sales tax in their pricing, so keep that in mind when bringing or withdrawing cash.
