It’s that time of year again. Comic-Con is here and San Diego is flooded with thousands of people (in costume!) all scrambling to find food and drinks. Using the cool new Yappee app, specializing in local favorites, I’ve sifted through a few users’ favs and compiled this DowntownRob-approved list of top spots Downtown:
The Blind Burro
People on Yappee are saying: “I love their cocktails!! The white sangria is SO yummy!! Light and refreshing! Also they have really good guacamole and fresh hot tortilla chips. The tacos are delicious and I love the quinoa salad! I’ve been here at least a dozen times. The decor is really cool too. Very rustic and hipster. I also love how open it is. The bar area is half inside and half outside. They never disappoint :)”
The Shout House
People are saying: “Great live entertainment! Great musicians that are also great and making fun of people, lol. Decently priced beers and cocktails too.”
Basic
Yappee folks are saying: “One of my favorite places downtown. Great place to eat before/after Padres games. Nightlife is awesome, too. They also have a gluten-free crust option, and, unlike other places, it actually tastes great! Can’t wait to go back!”
Bang Bang
People are saying: “Awesome Asian fusion food in an even cooler atmosphere. They have a huge dance floor and disco ball as well, overall great spot to check out!”
Barleymash
Yappee comment: “Super cool vibe and you can’t beat the huge dance floor! Quality selection of beer and plenty of tables, definitely my favorite bar in the Gaslamp district.”
Rustic Root
People on Yappee are saying: “Newly remodeled spot with a solid menu, superb cocktails, and great street views.”
