The San Diego Museum of Art’s popular sundown series Culture & Cocktails returns on Thursday, November 17, and is themed around the special exhibition Louis Kahn: The Power of Architecture. Guests will get a behind-the-scenes look at the famous architect’s work while sipping on cocktails inspired by Kahn’s iconic buildings and enjoying the following activities:
- Perfect the art of balance with games of giant Jenga
- Create your own monumental designs in the Blockitecture room (image below)
- Build your own wearable brooch or bow-tie out of Legos
- Instagram-worthy moments including a skyscraper photo booth and photo contest
Attendees will also be the first to find out the theme for the next Culture & Cocktails (February 16). The Museum is asking the public to vote now on three themes (Wild Wild West, Jetset or Persian Nights) through this online poll, and the winning theme will be announced that night.
Buy your e-tickets today, $5 for members and $25 for non-members, when bought in advance online by 2 p.m. the day of the event. If still available (this event usually sells out each time), tickets are $35 at the door. Entrance to Culture & Cocktails is first-come, first-served. A limited number of e-tickets are available online for members and non-members until capacity has been reached.
We hope to see you there. If you’ve made it to previous Culture & Cocktail events, let us know how you liked it, please leave your comments below!
